PreciseMate™ - Center Measuring Device

When you position the centering gauge against the edge of your material and press the two sides together, the marking bar is perfectly centered on your material. This is simply the geometry of a parallelogram. With a precisely drilled hole in the center of each bar, you just need to insert a pencil into the hole and slide it to mark the center of each piece of material. To create a centered mortise or tenon hole on your material, just mark both sides of the bar.

It's that simple. Each of the interchangeable stainless steel marking bars has a specific width. You can get the centering gauge with 1/4", 3/8", 7/16", and 1/2" marking bars, or with 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm, and 10mm, or as a complete set with all 9.

The centering gauge takes the guesswork out of accurately centering mortise and tenon joints. The precision-crafted parallel arms can be quickly adjusted to the thickness of the material and position the marking bar exactly in the center. Just mark each side of the bar, and you're done.

Each marking bar is precisely made from high-quality metal (ideal for use with marking knives), and each features a pencil guide at its exact midpoint. The parallel arms open to accommodate material up to 2" thick.

Choose from four widths for grooves and tenons (five for the metric system). Changing the width of your mortise and tenon setup couldn't be easier. Simply remove the two thumb screws that hold the marking bar in place and switch to the width you desire.

The imperial set includes 1/4", 3/8", 7/16", and 1/2" marking bars. For the metric version, you get widths of 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm, and 10mm. Alternatively, if you are like most woodworkers today and work in both imperial and metric systems depending on the project, the deluxe kit includes all nine marking bars. These are all the sizes you will need for material from 1/2" to a full 1-1/2" thick and more.
